action

The film consists mainly of various, often grotesque, episodes. There is also a framework from which the episodes are derived. The connection between the framework and the episodes is very weak. Many episodes revolve around surveillance and security.

In the framework of the story, insurance agents Erich (Nachtsheim) and Richard (Knebel) are stuck together in an elevator that is unusually large for a residential building (about 3 × 3 meters). While Erich wants to get out as quickly as possible, Richard is actually in no hurry, because he seems to live in the elevator. The acts of the intermediate acts are:

  • Two cashiers accuse a pregnant woman of shoplifting.
  • Eight Eskimos in an igloo watch a Bavarian stage program on television.
  • In the past, Erich comes out to craftsmen that he has a high school diploma.
  • A submarine threatens to sink until the captain can prevent the disaster with skillful wisdom about Eintracht Frankfurt (parody of the film "Das Boot" from 1981).
  • Two rockers who work for the house surveillance service demolish a house and make music.
  • A fictional commercial about a German restaurant is broadcast by the two house guards.
  • A young couple finds an oversized foundling at a pump room and gives him a new home.
  • Two security guards in a subway station arrest an alleged polluter and look the other way during two brawls.
  • Two caretakers sit in front of the video surveillance, eating masses of "gummers" (cucumbers) and one explains to the other how to switch the monitors. They never notice the situation in the elevator, in which there is also a surveillance camera.
  • Fred Labosch (a famous actor) makes several films at the same time. Richard raves about this actor.
  • Fred Labosch philosophizes with his smoker friend about the nonsense of medical health recommendations.
  • A bodybuilder trains for the month of May when the outdoor pools reopen.
  • In a restaurant, the guests get into a frenzy when they eat meat contaminated with BSE.
  • Four older women have their regular coffee party and lapse into discussions and drinking rounds.
  • Neighbors and real estate agents inspect an apartment that has become vacant after a death.

Reviews

  • filmportal.de sums up its rather negative criticism with “The pictures are not blurred and also illuminated. What more do you want!"
  • video.de judges "A stunning slapstick (not only) for comedy fans."
