A television film from the crime series Tatort by ARD and ORF is right into the heart . The film was produced by Radio Bremen under the direction of Ulrich Stark and broadcast for the first time on September 13, 1998 in the program Das Erste . For Chief Detective Inga Lürsen ( Sabine Postel ) it is the third case in which she is investigating.
action
Mascha Borst works in a phone sex call center . When she made an appointment to meet someone in the container port one evening after work, she was shot at the meeting point without warning. She leaves a two-year-old daughter who is now taken care of by her friend Tatjana Funk.
Commissioner Inga Lürsen and her colleague Commissioner Henning Kraus suspect the perpetrator to be among the customers of the call center. When Lürsen locates the owner of the company, she comes across one of her old friends: Conny Barop, who she had just met again at a class reunion. Friedrich Peters, who also runs a flower wholesale business, is co-owner of the company. After checking the victim's customer file, Lürsen's boss, Dr. Herbert Kreiner, whose secret number was in the file, as well as that of the judge Dr. Lars Heinemann. Since he had only just dealt with Friedrich Peters in court and had acquitted him, Lürsen suspects blackmail. But the press also finds these connections and after a corresponding article appears, Judge Heinemann tries to commit suicide.
After the commissioner finds out that Kreiner seems to have a relationship with Barop, she also remains on his heels. More and more clues point to Lürsen's boss. His car was seen at the port on the night of the murder, traces of blood were secured on it, and a cartridge case was found that verifiably came from his service weapon. As an alibi, he claims to have been with Conny Barop that night. She confirms this, but also says that she was alone in the hotel bar for a long time because Kreiner supposedly fell asleep. Because of the overwhelming evidence, he is taken into custody.
There are also references to Barop's business partner Friedrich Peters. He illegally produced violent videos, one of which had got into Mascha Borst's hands and with which she had blackmailed Peters. In the course of this blackmail and the reports in the press it turns out that he had forced Heinemann to take the tablets. Therefore, Lürsen's investigations focus more and more on Peters and Barop, as she cannot imagine that her boss should be an unscrupulous murderer. So she discovered that after the death of her daughter, who died in a traffic accident at the age of six, her old friend had developed into an ice-cold monster that people around her only used for their own purposes. Not having come to terms with the death of her child, she forged a plan of revenge. Kreiner's illegitimate son was the driver who ran over their child and thanks to his father's association with the judge, he received only 18 months probation. Therefore, she arranged everything in such a way that all indications speak for Kreiner as the perpetrator. Recently she even kidnapped Mascha Borst's little daughter in order to raise her in place of her daughter.
When Lürsen tries to arrest Barop, she shoots herself at the grave of her dead daughter.
