An inconspicuous woman is a television film from the crime series Tatort by ARD and ORF . The film was produced by Radio Bremen under the direction of Martin Gies and broadcast for the first time on November 11, 2001 in the program Das Erste . For Chief Detective Inga Lürsen it is the 6th case in which she is investigating. In this episode, she meets her new colleague Nils Stedefreund .

action

Margit Brede is an inconspicuous woman and extremely fearful. One day she wants to go shopping at the fruit seller in her neighborhood and since she is his only customer at this moment, he becomes intrusive and harasses her. When he even gets physical because she wants to reject him, she finds a pistol behind the counter in the shop and shoots the man in need. The feeling of finally being able to defend against someone gives the woman strength and courage. She wants to savor this newly acquired strength a little and makes the decision to punish her former lover Alfred Stellmacher, who left her months ago, for all that he did to her and for what she had to suffer a lot in the past. She kidnaps wheelwright and locks him up in the basement of her small row house. Although she really wants to see him suffer, she is still not indifferent to him. On the one hand she humiliates and beats him, but on the other hand she also tries to win his favor back. When he tries to defend himself against her humiliation, there is a scuffle and wheelwright is easily injured.

Chief Inspector Lürsen and her new colleague Nils Stedefreund are called to the dead fruit dealer in the meantime. Since shop robberies are not uncommon, the police initially assume a robbery. However, Lürsen receives several references to a woman who was seen with a gun and Stedefreund also identifies a woman who is said to have last been at the fruit seller.

Margit Brede tries to get heart medication for wheelwright in a pharmacy. When the pharmacist does not want to give her the desired preparation because it requires a prescription, she takes it at gunpoint. Since this is reported, Lürsen and Stedefreund take on the matter and find a lead to the wheelwright and the alleged kidnapping. While the investigators visit his wife to find out something about the unknown woman who may be holding him prisoner, the situation in Margit Brede's house escalates. A pushy neighbor becomes too curious and in an argument the frightened Brede shoots her down too. Distraught, she tries to get rid of the corpse and has difficulty explaining after Stellmacher discovers the woman. This makes him aware of the explosive nature of the situation in which he finds himself.

Lürsen and Stedefreund have only been able to find out the first name of Stellmacher's former girlfriend. When the kidnapper's car is found in the immediate vicinity of Margit Brede's house, Lürsen realizes that Margit must be the one wanted. Strangely enough, she even knows the woman because she happened to meet her in the passport office. So she also knows that she has called in sick and has to be at home. Together with Stedefreund she wants to storm the house, but it is empty. With a hint, the officers also look in the neighbor's apartment and find the two wanted ones there. When Margit Brede takes up a gun and aims at Lürsen, Stedefreund shoots Brede and is able to incapacitate her. She is brought to the clinic together with the wheelwright, accompanied by the police.
