Life

Joe Mubare studied psychology and political science in Munich and Los Angeles. He then began training as a family therapist and occasionally translated psychological textbooks. Thanks to his extensive musical training during his youth, with which he had occasionally won composition competitions, he managed to work part-time as a composer for 20th Century Fox . There he composed about 50 songs for film and television series.

After returning to Germany in the early 1980s, Mubare focused on his music career and released his first album in 1984, Mubare . His greatest success was his 1986 album No Man's Land . Despite critical praise, there was no great commercial success. Mubare, who had been running the record label yaya records together with Mark Polscher since 1989 , concentrated again on film composition. From 1990 to 2010 he was responsible for the music of over 80 film and television productions, including 14 Tatorte .
