Affair threes is a German love film and film drama of director Josh Broecker from the year 2003. In the lead roles embody Sophie von Kessel and Oliver Bootz the policemen couple Kate and Max.

Katrin and Max have a happy marriage and are both employed by the Munich criminal police. Katrin as a police doctor, Max as a detective inspector. Of course, a certain routine creeps in during the course of their marriage, both privately and professionally.

During the medical recruitment test that Katrin carries out on the new officer Franziska Hansen, she gets a magical tingling sensation. Something about this woman seems to excite her, she is almost drawn to her. What Katrin cannot suspect at this point is that the young police officer has had an eventful past, because since a traffic accident for which she is not to blame and her husband died in the process, she has suffered from psychological problems that she was behind tries to hide its cool facade.

Everything comes up in Franziska, however, when she goes on a joint mission with Max and sinks into a haystack with him.

To make matters worse, Franziska also realizes that she has developed feelings for Katrin, but at the same time also for Max, who in turn, despite his marriage to Katrin, also takes a liking to Franziska. The plot ends in a delicate, partly romantic, partly erotic relationship.

Tilmann P. Gangloff says: “Director Josh Broecker does without soft focus and other soft porn stylistic devices. The drawing of the characters is also convincing ”. The conclusion of the film critic, who writes on a freelance basis for Tittelbach.tv , among others , is: "Nadeshda Brennicke succeeds in creating a delightful mixture of melancholy coolness and vulnerability".

TV Spielfilm states that an affair for three is a "not very squeamish red light drama [...]". The final sentence of the program guide reads: " Eroticism that never gets hot".
