Uli Aselmann

Dieter Ulrich Aselmann (born April 21, 1957 in Hamburg ) is a German film and television producer .

Life

After graduating from high school, Aselmann studied German and musicology at Bielefeld University . He did community service and then initially worked as an assistant director on Ida Ehres Hamburger Kammerspiele and as a producer for various radio productions of the North German Radio. Aselmann completed his studies at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts with a film diploma (diploma film three times three , 1987).

This was followed by various activities in TV projects as a prop master, outfitter, recording and production manager, until Jürgen Kriwitz employed him as a producer at the Hamburg and Munich-based production company "Neue Deutsche Filmgesellschaft" (NDF).

After series like Schloss Hohenstein and Um die 30 , Werbefilmproduktionen u. a. With Helmut Dietl , Bobby Roth and Ralf Huettner and TV and cinema films such as America, Chaos Queen and Die Musterknaben , he founded the production company “die film gmbh” in Munich in 1997, as well as the subsidiaries “a.pictures film & tv. production GmbH ”in Hamburg, the“ film gmbh West ”in Stuttgart and the“ film gmbh Berlin ”. Aselmann is the managing partner and producer of these companies. The companies have realized well over 100 TV and cinema productions, many of which have been nominated for international and national prizes and awarded in various categories.

Memberships

Aselmann has been director of the cinema section and deputy chairman of the board of the Alliance of German Producers - Film & Television since May 2008 . Since February 2009 he has been a member of the executive committee of the Filmförderungsanstalt (FFA) and a member of the German Film Academy .
