Just a year later, she was writing a screenplay for a television play in a youth competition. A short time later this was bought by the Federal Agency for Civic Education . It was also during this period that a “youth working group for program issues” was founded at Westdeutscher Rundfunk and membership in juries, including at Bayerischer Rundfunk for the youth jury of the Prix Jeunesse International . She was appointed to this because she had previously written the script for the youth competition. After graduating from high school , Wollenhaupt began a newspaper traineeship at the WAZ Group and became a junior editor in the local editorial team in Wanne-Eickel and a member of the works council . Due to various dismissal protection suits, she was given leave of absence with full pay and began studying art history and politics. At the same time she wrote her first detective novel "Charity pays off" under the pseudonym Pit Murad, published by Weltkreis-Verlag.

After the employment contract was later terminated in exchange for severance pay, she joined Westdeutscher Rundfunk in Dortmund in 1985 as a reporter and editor for radio and television. She moderated radio broadcasts, created articles, features and films and took care of the program planning. Later Wollenhaupt became television editor at WDR.

In 1993 she wrote the first “Grappa” crime thriller with the main character “Maria Grappa” in the fictional Ruhr metropolis “Bierstadt”, for which Dortmund is unmistakably the godfather. This book, called Grappa's Temptation, was followed by many more. In addition, numerous short stories were created for anthologies and historical detective novels.

Since 1997 she has also worked for television. Among other things, she wrote the script for the 396th ARD crime scene Voll ins Herz , which was first broadcast on September 13, 1998.
