action

Elviz Tütüncü, brother of a German-Turkish baker from Hamburg , runs a club. To finance the club, he took out a loan of 50,000 euros from his uncle Cengiz, to whom he gave the papers for his mother's property in Turkey as security . Cengiz intends to build a hotel complex on the property. To achieve this goal, he calls the police when some minors are in Elviz's club. Then he has to close the club. Now Cengiz wants his money back or the property. Elviz's brother, Tarik, asks Cengiz to give him four weeks to raise funds. This is granted to Elviz because Cengiz expects that Elviz will not be able to repay the loan on time.

As Elviz accidentally hears Tarik tried a sex hotline to call, and it comes across some "language problems", it is a brilliant idea: A Turkish-language Phone set up hotline. His friend Olaf is in contact with a German entrepreneur named Porno-Schneyder, who has already gained experience in this industry and has become wealthy. Through this Elviz and Olaf get numbers available and share in the profit. You can find the missing space in Tarik's bakery, where some rooms are still empty. The men of the women who work there are told that this is a normal service hotline. The hotline is hidden behind a bogus internet agency called Lüksweb.

Business begins to flourish and Elviz is able to repay the first installment at Cengiz, who is not happy about it. Elviz has fallen in love with Anna, his niece's belly dance teacher . The two get to know each other better over dinner; but this is interrupted by a phone call after which Elviz has to go to his office immediately. When Anna asked what he was doing professionally, he gave only fleeting information and left. Anna is in financial difficulties because her father no longer supports her because she doesn't want to take over his practice, but wants to become a belly dance teacher. She finds out that there are still positions for a service hotline and applies there. When Elviz sees her, he wants to have her sent away immediately. Instead, the hotline boss hires her.

Elviz is covered for days and is completely desperate. In the end, he identifies Anna as the owner of the company, but does not want to fire her because he knows that Anna needs the money and offers her to pay her salary for nothing. But Anna rejects this offer and continues to work in the company. Elviz, who is full of jealousy, orders Olaf to record all of Anna's conversations. Elviz and Anna ignore each other, and Olaf, for whom the arguments with his boss are getting too much, packs his things and leaves.

In the meantime, Cengiz has found out what is going on behind Elviz's front company. In order to get to the coveted property, he informs the husbands of the women who work there and the press. His plan works, the men storm the company, and Tarik now also realizes what Elviz does for his money. As a result, Elviz loses the company and his brother has to close his bakery because of the bad press. The property in Turkey is finally transferred to Cengiz.

Elviz plans to travel to Turkey to see his mother's house one last time before it is demolished. Before that he goes to Olaf to say goodbye and apologize. He accepts the apology and reveals that he recorded Cengiz as a caller during one of his recordings. With this, the two blackmail Cengiz, who then gives back the property and 30,000 euros for Tarik's new start. Elviz also apologizes to Anna with a large bouquet of roses, whereupon she forgives him.

Reviews

“Moderately entertaining comedy. Above all, the atmospheric camera work and the sympathetic main actor set the tone in an otherwise fragmentary film, whose human conflicts receive less attention than the seemingly realistic portrayal of German-Turkish family situations. "

“The directorial debut of the commercial filmmaker Torsten Wacker, who delivers a funny comedy with a lot of Hamburg local color here with relatively little financial means. Above all, the characters drawn with a lot of love and the entertaining and coherent script, which seems to run out of air towards the end, are particularly convincing. In the main role of Elviz, Denis Moschitto convinces [...]. Somewhat unhappy cast: Marie Zielcke as Elviz's Turkish friend, on the other hand wonderfully funny Peter Lohmeyer in his short appearance as "porn cutter". "

The German Film and Media Evaluation FBW in Wiesbaden awarded the film the title valuable.
