Anja Pohl
Anja Pohl (* 1967 in Munich ) is a German film editor .
Life
After graduating from high school in 1989, she studied modern and recent history as well as political science in Munich and Berlin , where she graduated in 1994. Meanwhile, from 1991 to 1992, she completed the "General Design" course at the Zurich School of Design . From 1993 to 1995 she did an editing internship and assistance with Daniela Beauvais and Tanja Schmidbauer in Munich and Berlin. Then she could from 1996 as a freelance editor of self- making. Her first works were the short films Kleiner Stürmer and The Last Second by Tim Trageser. This in turn acted as an actor in the short film Mafia, Pizza, Razzia by Peter Thorwarth , for which Pohl was also responsible for editing . The collaboration with Thorwarth ran over several projects up to the year 2006. Goldene Zeiten was initially the last joint project, although Thorwarth praised Pohl's work in a few interviews.
She also worked several times with the documentary film director Dominik Wessely . In 2007 she received the Filmplus Editing Award for the best documentary for the montage of the documentary Die Unzerbrechlichen . The next joint work with Wessely, the documentary Gegenenschuss - Aufbruch der Filemacher , brought her a 2008 nomination for the Filmplus Editing Award.
In addition to her full-time work as an editor, she also worked more often as a juror at film festivals and as a lecturer at film schools. Among other things, she was a juror at DOK.fest 2008 in Munich and twice, in 2005 and 2006, on the preliminary jury of the Filmplus Festival in Cologne. She was also a lecturer at the HFF Munich and IFS Cologne .
Anja Pohl lives with the documentary filmmaker Jörg Adolph , with whom she has also worked together for years in Ebenhausen . She is a member of the German Film Academy
