Astrid Plenk

Astrid Plenk (* 1976 in Bernburg an der Saale ) is a German media educator and program manager at KiKA .

Life

In 2001 Plenk finished her studies in education , psychology and sociology at the University of Magdeburg . From 2010 to 2017 she headed the children's and family editorial team at the MDR . She previously worked for Universal Studios Networks Germany , the International Central Institute for Youth and Educational Television (IZI), Bayerischer Rundfunk and RTL II . 2013 she was at the University of Kassel with a dissertation on "The perspective of children to quality in children's television" in media education for Dr. phil. PhD . Since 2011, Plenk has also been responsible for the children's film funding area on the Young German Film Board of Trustees . Since January 1, 2018, she has been the program manager of KiKA.

She is married and has three children.
