Steffen Groth (born September 16, 1974 in West Berlin ) is a German actor , voice actor , audio book speaker and director .

Life

Education and theater

Steffen Groth is the son of the trumpeter Konradin Groth . He studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . Groth began his career as a theater actor while still studying . In 1996 he played in the play Victor or The Children in Power at the bat theater . In 1997 he appeared at the Maxim Gorki Theater as Mike in a new version of the play Home by Maxim Gorki , directed by Lore Stefanek . He had another theater engagement in 1999 at the Kleist Theater in Frankfurt (Oder) ; there he played the role of Edgar Wibeau in a stage version of the novel Die neue Leiden des young W. von Ulrich Plenzdorf . In the 2003/2004 season he appeared at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam as Soldat Peider in Max Frisch's play Andorra .

Television and cinema

In 1997 Groth made his television debut in the role of Louis in the television series Friends Like Us . In 1997 he starred in the thriller Between the Fires of Love , directed by Sigi Rothemund ; his partners were Constanze Engelbrecht and Walter Kreye . In the late 1990s he played his first major film and television roles. He had his first continuous series role from 1999 to 2002 alongside Marco Girnth in the ARD pre-evening series Die Strandclique . Private

Groth is vegan and also feeds his three children without meat, vegetarian. In 2010, Groth supported the vegetarianism campaign of the animal rights organization Peta Deutschland e. V. with the motif meat eats away at the world .

He and his partner Ana Große Halbuer have had a child since May 2016. He is the father of a daughter and a son from a previous relationship. He lives in Berlin-Friedrichshagen .

Steffen Groth is also committed to the aid organization CARE . At the beginning of 2014 he worked with young people in Kosovo as part of the Young Men Initiative . In a ten-day acting workshop, he treated the young men with common gender stereotypes and everyday problems such as drugs and violence . The project was accompanied by the WDR .
