reception

Björn Schneider from the Gilde deutscher Filmkunsttheater writes that visually and acoustically flashbacks to the past, in which the deceased mother can always be seen, stand out pleasantly from the rest of the film. These short, emotional flashbacks gave Orange Days a successful melancholy note. In terms of content, however, Schneider continues, the film wants too much because it wants to be romance, coming-of-age, social or family drama and animal film at the same time.
