background

The characters of the TV series were already represented in the television film The Second Time (alternatively: Sex and More ), which was broadcast on ProSieben in November 2004. Minza was played by Mina Tander , Valerie by Stefanie Stappenbeck , and the setting was later moved from Cologne to Munich. After the working titles "Sex and More" and "Girlfriends Forever" had been discarded, the series was finally given the title "Everything but Sex". The series is shown in the ProSieben series “Made by ProSieben”. The production costs amounted to approx. 1.7 million euros per episode. In March 2006 the series was released on DVD .

The first season was directed by the Austrian Peter Gersina , who became known in Germany as the screenwriter of the film The Strange Behavior of Sexually Mature City dwellers during the mating season . Isabelle Flachsmann sang the title song We Are Not Angels .

In April 2006, directed by Matthias Steurer, filming began for the second season, which comprises twelve episodes and has been broadcast in double episodes on Saturday evenings from 8:15 pm since July 14, 2007. With Kathrin Kühnel as Isabelle, a new character is represented after Rhea Harder , who played Valerie, left the series. The new title song You've got a friend is a cover version of the song of the same name by Carole King . However, ProSieben banned the series two episodes before the end of the second season from the broadcast slot on Saturday evening due to poor audience ratings . In October 2006, the series aired in France.
