Bobby Kustermann ( Bobby Brederlow ), a young man with Down syndrome ( trisomy 21), lives in a loving family and leads a happy life. He has friends a. the youth welfare office worker Rosi Huber ( Veronica Ferres ), by whom he is accepted and especially valued for his cheerful and uncomplicated manner. When his mother Benita dies unexpectedly, she leaves a considerable inheritance that is to be paid for by the family member who takes care of her disabled son for Bobby's maintenance . Between Bobby's two siblings Nanni and Johannes ( Markus Knüfken ) there is a dispute about who could give Bobby a better home: While Nanni and her husband Klaus would have a "normal" family environment to offer, but Klaus in particular would only be open When the money is up, Johannes really wants to take care of Bobby and give him a home for the future. The problem is: he is homosexual and lives with his partner Marc. The responsible offices don't like that at all. Only when the matter goes to court do the parties to the dispute realize that this is mainly about Bobby's will and that he can actually best decide who he would like to live with in the future.
