Timur Işık

Timur Işık (born November 16, 1980 in Hamburg ) is a German actor .

Life

Timur Işık was born as the son of a Turkish dentist and a German mother in Hamburg, where he grew up. From 2002 to 2006 he completed an acting training at the University of the Arts in Berlin . Immediately afterwards he went into his first engagement at the Munich Volkstheater , of which he was a permanent member of the ensemble for three years (2006–2009).

Işık's roles at the Münchner Volkstheater under the direction of Christian Stückl included a. a .: the title role in Woyzeck (2006; director: Christian Stückl), Moritz Stiefel in Frühlings Erwachen (2006; director: Christine Eder), Zettel in Ein Midsummer Night's Dream (2007; director: Christian Stückl), Wahab in Burns by Wajdi Mouawad ( 2008; directed by Christine Eder), Banquo in Macbeth (2008; directed by Philipp Jescheck ), the Koch Kim in Das Fest (2009; directed by Jorinde Dröse ) and Domingo in Don Karlos (2009; directed by Christian Stückl).

In the 2009/10 season he appeared in the title role of the fairy tale Puss in Boots at the Schauspielhaus Bochum ; Directed by Wolf-Dietrich Sprenger . This was followed by guest engagements at Ballhaus Naunynstraße (2010–2012; 2014), at Heimathafen Neukölln (2011/2012), at the Theater unterm Dach (2012, 2014) and at the Freie Kammerspiele Magdeburg. In 2013 he appeared at the Stadttheater Bern as Secretary Antonio in Goethe's play Torquato Tasso . In 2014 he appeared at the Theater unterm Dach as Woyzeck in a production by Oleg Myrzak. In the 2014/15 season he played Abraham in Ballhaus Naunynstraße in the play Foreskin by Necati Öziri , directed by Miraz Bezar .

Işık had roles a. a .: in the movies Ayla (2010; as Ayhan's younger brother Mehmet, who seeks to defend family honor and tradition) and 5 Years of Life (2013). He also had episode roles in the television series Alone Against Time (2012) and Flemming (2013). In the crime film Prager Frühling from the ZDF crime series Ein stark Team (2013), Işık played Patrick Scholz, a forwarding agent who became unemployed after losing his driver's license and who was murdered in a forest parking lot.

On January 1, 2015, he was seen in the episode Honeymoon in Turkey on the ZDF television series Kreuzfahrt ins Glück . He played a successful public prosecutor of Turkish origin who married a German lawyer ( Claudia Mehnert ) who was almost 10 years older than him and thus got into conflict with his Turkish, widowed mother ( Nursel Köse ). In March 2016 Işık starred in the ARD television film Die Informantin ; he played the health club owner and drug smuggler Musab. In February 2017 he was seen in the crime series Morden im Norden in a leading role in an episode; he played the Albanian Strip club owner Bojan Vesic, who as an undercover agent working for the Luebeck criminal investigation. In the television film Ein Sommer in Prag from the Ein Sommer in ... film series of ZDF, which first aired in June 2017 , he played one of the leading male roles, alongside Laura Preiss and Katja Weitzenböck , the photojournalist Raul, who is the daughter of female main character in love; Filming for the ZDF series began in Prague in early September 2016 . In November 2017, Işık was seen in a leading role in the ZDF series SOKO Leipzig ; He played the fitness trainer Ercan Durmuz, who turns out to be an undercover BKA investigator.

In the 5-part ZDF crime series Die Protokollantin (2018) with Iris Berben as the title character, Işık played the Berlin LKA investigator Yanik Akbay in a leading role . In the TV thriller The Mission , which premiered in March 2019, he played one of the leading roles, the Lebanese gang boss Ahmed Sayed.

Işık is also active as a speaker for radio plays , for features on radio and television and for commercials .
