Christian Ditter

Christian Ditter (* 1977 in Lahn - Gießen ) is a German film director and screenwriter .

Life

Ditter graduated from the Evangelisch Stiftischen Gymnasium in Gütersloh in 1996 . From 1997 to 1998 he studied applied cultural studies at the University of Lüneburg and from 1998 to 2006 directing at the University of Television and Film Munich .

His short films Enchanted (2000) and Grounded (2003) won numerous prizes at national and international festivals and his internationally funded and produced debut film French for Beginners started in the summer of 2006. He then directed the with the Adolf Grimme Prize and the German TV Award-winning ARD series Turkish for Beginners (2007) and the RTL series Doctor's Diary (2008), which was awarded the German TV Award, the German Comedy Award and the Adolf Grimme Award, among others.

He filmed Max von Grün's classic book for young people, Vorstadtkrokodile and the film sequel Vorstadtkrokodile 2 . For the first part he was u. a. Awarded the “White Elephant” children's media prize and the “Kindertiger” screenplay prize awarded by Vision Kino and KI.KA. For Vorstadtkrokodile 3 Ditter worked on the script but did not direct.

In 2011, Ditter directed the children's film Wickie auf Großer Fahrt , the sequel to Wickie and the Strong Men from 2009.

In 2014 he shot his first international production with Love, Rosie - Maybe Forever in Ireland. This turned out to be a door opener for Hollywood, where Ditter was hired to direct the comedy How to Be Single in 2016 .
