Anand Batbileg Chuluunbaatar (* 2001 in Munich ) is a German actor .

Life

Anand Batbileg comes from a Mongolian family. His father worked at the Mongolian embassy in Berlin .

Batbileg gained fame as an actor through his engagement for Fatih Akin's feature film Tschick (2016). In the film adaptation of the youth novel of the same name by Wolfgang Herrndorf , he slipped into the title role of the 14-year-old Russian German Andrej ("Tschick") Tschichatschow, who, together with his Berlin classmate Maik (played by Tristan Göbel ), headed across East Germany in a stolen Lada Wallachia makes on the way. The German film production company had unsuccessfully searched for a suitable actor in Russia and Mongolia and finally contacted the Mongolian embassy. This is how Batbileg's father found out about the casting call, which he printed out for his son and put in his room. The piece of paper that Batbileg had mistakenly thought to be rubbish only reappeared weeks later and he applied for the role of "Tschick". Batbileg convinced with a short video in which he reenacted the most sensitive scenes of the film. Director Akin had insisted on “physiognomically” young actors for the roles of Tschick and Maik.

During the filming of Tschick , which took place between school days, the 13-year-old Batbileg learned to drive a car on blocked roads from a stuntman (for the recordings the stuntman himself steered the Lada from a seat on the car roof). Since Batbileg was 1.80 m tall and two heads taller than his screen partner Tristan Göbel, Akin had to shoot the film in a 1: 1.85 format instead of 1: 2.35.

For his first film role, Batbileg received praise from the professional critics. Peter Körte ( Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung ) welcomed his commitment: “In the interaction with Tristan Göbel you can see the hesitant development, the alternation of attraction and demarcation, which has to be readjusted again and again.” Gerrit Bartels ( Der Tagesspiegel ) reviewed that Akin's film “ [...] in the concentration on his two main characters in interaction with [...] “ Nicole Mercedes Müller , the actress of Isa, is convincing. “Anand Batbileg looks strong, a little boyish - and yet the little boy is still in him. How mature he is, however, becomes apparent when he tells Maik that he actually feels more drawn to boys, ”says Bartels.

After Tschick's success , Batbileg made guest appearances in the series Das Pubertier (2017) and You Are Wanted (2018). In 2019 he was seen in the episode Dead Earth of the crime series Commissioner Lucas as environmental activist Paul.

Anand Batbileg lives with two younger brothers in Berlin-Pankow . He attends international school and counts among other things playing the drums in a big band and Taekwondo to his hobbies.
