location
The embassy is located at Dietzgenstrasse 31 in the Berlin district of Niederschönhausen in the Pankow district . The economic and trade department and the consular section are based on Hausvogteiplatz 14 in the Berlin district center of the district of the same .
The embassy in Berlin also reports to honorary consulates in Frankfurt am Main , Hamburg , Leipzig and Munich .
history
Diplomatic relations between the GDR and Mongolia had existed since 1950 due to the same political ideology. From 1961 to 1969, their representatives used a building at Gundelfinger Strasse 38 in the Karlshorst district . From 1970 until the political change , the seat of the embassy was in Fritz-Schmenkel-Straße 81 (now: Rheinsteinstraße), also in Berlin-Karlshorst.
Only in 1974 did the Federal Republic of Germany establish relations with Mongolia. In the 21st century, Germany is Mongolia's most important partner and, after Great Britain, the second most important trading partner within the European Union .
Almost at the same time as German reunification , the Mongolian Embassy was established on October 1, 1990 at Siebengebirgsblick 4/6 in the village of Sieglar in the city of Troisdorf near Bonn . The Mongolian Embassy in Warsaw was previously responsible for the Federal Republic of Germany. The embassy moved to Berlin in 2000.
