The Portuguese Embassy in Berlin (officially Embassy of the Portuguese Republic , Portuguese Embaixada da República Português ) is the head of the diplomatic mission of Portugal in Germany. The embassy building is located in the rooms Straße 56 in Berlin district center of the district of the same .

In Düsseldorf , Hamburg and Stuttgart there are consulates general that are organized independently of the consular department of the embassy; the consulate general in Stuttgart also has a branch in Hattersheim am Main . Francisco Ribeiro de Menezes has been the ambassador since February 19, 2020 .

history

Until 1999, the embassy was in the Ubierstraße 78 in Bonn district -residential area Godesberg . The building now serves as an office building. The Portuguese embassy in the GDR was located at Otto-Grotewohl-Strasse 3a (now Wilhelmstrasse 66) in Berlin-Mitte from 1973 until it was closed in 1990 .
