The Uzbek Embassy in Berlin (officially Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan , Uzbek O'zbekiston elchixonasi ) is the headquarters of the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in Germany.

The embassy building, the Ballhaus Tiergarten , is located at Perleberger Straße 62 in the Berlin district of Moabit in the Mitte district .

The embassy in Berlin also has an honorary consulate in Bremen . In Frankfurt am Main there is a consulate general that is organized independently of the consular department of the embassy.

history

With the recognition of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan on December 31, 1991 by the Federal Republic of Germany, bilateral relations began. Today Germany is Uzbekistan's most important trading partner to the European Union .

From 1993 until the move to Berlin in 2000, the embassy was located at Deutschherrenstrasse 7 in the Pennenfeld district of the former federal capital Bonn . The embassy was opened on April 3, 2001 during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islom Karimov to Berlin.

building

The building was built in the years 1879–1880 on behalf of the military treasury based on designs by Otto Heimerdinger and Oskar Appelius . It was built as an officer's mess during the construction of barracks for the 1st horse artillery guard regiment . The building is now a listed building .

ambassador

Ambassador since September 27, 2013 was Durbek Amanov . He was replaced by Nabijon Kasimov on November 27, 2017.
