The Senegalese Embassy in Berlin is the diplomatic mission of Senegal in Germany . It is located at Klingelhöferstraße 5 in the Berlin district of Tiergarten in the Mitte district .

Embassy building

The embassy resides in the Tiergarten triangle on the first floor of an office and commercial building that was completed in 2000. It is a five-storey solitaire with a built-up area of ​​690 m² on a 1086 m² property. The street front of the house is flush with the property line.

The Mexican embassy and the Nordic embassies reside in the neighboring buildings to the north on Klingelhöferstrasse . In the houses adjoining to the south there are the Malaysian Embassy , the Bahraini Embassy , the Luxembourg Embassy , the Maltese Embassy and the Monegasque Embassy , followed by the Konrad-Adenauer-Haus of the CDU .

history

In the year in which they gained independence, Senegal and the Federal Republic of Germany established diplomatic relations on September 23, 1960; Relations with the GDR followed on August 22, 1973. There were embassy residences in Bonn at Raiffeisenstrasse 1 and, from 1974, in Bad Godesberg at Stirzenhofstrasse 21 . After the German government moved to Berlin, the Senegalese embassy also moved there, initially to the Berlin-Kreuzberg building , Dessauer Strasse 28–29.
