Moldovan Embassy on Gotlandstrasse

The Moldovan Embassy in Berlin (official Embassy of the Republic of Moldova , Romanian Ambasada Republicii Moldova ) is the diplomatic representation of the Republic of Moldova in Germany . The embassy building is located at Gotlandstrasse 16 in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg in the Pankow district . Oleg Serebrian has been the ambassador since January 6, 2016 . The Moldovan Embassy in Berlin is also subordinate to three honorary consulates in Hamburg , Munich and Stuttgart . In Frankfurt (Main) there is also a Consulate General of the Republic of Moldova, which is organized independently of the consular department of the embassy .

history

Germany and Moldova have had diplomatic relations since April 30, 1992. On March 28, 1995, the Moldovan embassy was opened in Bonn and moved to Berlin in 1998. Until 2004 there was a branch of the Moldovan embassy in the former Bonn embassy building.

The Moldovan Embassy is housed in a building designed by the architect Eckart Schmidt . This is a standardized type of building that was built for a large number of representations from foreign countries.
