Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Berlin
The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office , Berlin (for short: HKETO Berlin , English Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Berlin , Chinese 香港 駐 柏林 經濟 貿易 辦事處 ) is the official representative of the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Germany , Austria and Switzerland as well Poland , Slovakia , Slovenia , the Czech Republic and Hungary . HKETO Berlin has existed since 2009 and promotes bilateral economic and trade relations between Hong Kong and the eight countries it serves . This is particularly true in the areas of economy , trade , investment and culture . Betty Ho has been the director since September 2014.
In recognition of Hong Kong's special status as a special administrative region of China , the Federal Council granted HKETO Berlin full diplomatic privileges and immunities in 2009 , even though Hong Kong is not a sovereign state.
