Rasa Budbergytė (born May 8, 1960 in Plungė ) is a Lithuanian administrative lawyer and politician , former Minister of Finance (2016) and Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Justice (1998–2000).

Life

After graduating from high school in 1978 at the 1st Prienai Middle School , Budbergytė graduated from the Vilnius University Faculty of Law in 1983 with a degree in law with distinction . Her specialization was civil law . From 1983 to 1985 she worked as the head of a department of the Marijampolė City Council .

From 1985 to 1992, Budbergytė was the chief inspector of the Disability Department at the Lithuanian Ministry of Social Affairs in Vilnius . From 1992 to 1993 she worked as a consultant in the legal department at the Ministry of International Economic Relations . In 1993 she was the Prime Minister's assistant. From 1995 to 1997 she worked as a business lawyer in the textile company AB “ Lelija ”. From 1997 she was an assistant at the Chair of Labor Law at Vilnius University.

From 1998 to 2000 Budbergytė worked as Deputy Minister of Justice. In 2001 she taught as a lecturer at the Chair of Family Law and Civil Procedure Law at Lietuvos teisės universitetas in Vilnius . In 2001 she worked at the Ministry of Interior of Lithuania . From 2005 to 2010, Budbergytė was head of the Lithuanian Audit Office Lietuvos Respublikos valstybės kontrolė . From 2010 to 2016 she was the Lithuanian representative at the European Court of Auditors . In June 2016 she replaced the Lithuanian Minister of Finance Rimantas Šadžius .

She is a member of the Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija .
