Evaldas Gustas

Evaldas Gustas (born April 1, 1959 in Pasvalys ) is a Lithuanian social democratic politician , Vice Minister for Agriculture since 2018, former Minister of Economics and Vice Minister (Interior).

Life

After graduating from secondary school in Šiauliai from 1966 to 1977 , he completed a diploma in electrical engineering from 1977 to 1982 at the Faculty of Automation at the Kauno politechnikos institutas and in 2000 the master’s degree in administration at the Kauno technologijos universitetas .

From 1982 to 1986 he was head of the Komsomol department in Kaunas , and from 1989 to 1990 instructor of the Lietuvos komunistų partija . From 1995 to 2000 and from 2003 to 2005 he was a member of the Kaunas City Council . In 2001 he worked at Lietuvos bankas . From 2001 to 2003 he was Deputy Minister of the Interior of Lithuania , from 2003 to 2009 State Secretary , from 2009 to 2013 Chancellor at the Ministry of the Interior. From June 11, 2013 to December 13, 2016 he was Lithuania's Minister of Economic Affairs in the Butkevičius cabinet . Since July 2018 he has been Deputy Minister of Agriculture in the Skvernelis cabinet ; he was appointed by Minister Surplys .

From 1990 Gustas was a member of the Lietuvos Demokratieinė darbo partija . since 2001 he has been a member of the Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija .

Gustas is married. He and Mrs. Rolanda have a daughter, Justė.
