Rimantė Šalaševičiūtė

Rimantė Šalaševičiūtė (born February 10, 1954 in Varniai , Telšiai district ) is a Lithuanian social democratic politician and lawyer , Seimas member (since 2012) and Minister of Health (2014-2016).

Life

After graduation in 1971 at the middle school Varniai in Telšiai graduated Šalaševičiūtė 1971-1976 a masters degree in law at the Vilniaus universitetas . She then worked as a lawyer at the Institute of Civil Engineering in Vilnius , where she taught labor law and business law . From 1979 to 1986 she worked as a lawyer in the Vilnius Gasification Administration and taught at the advanced training institute at the Soviet-Lithuanian Ministry of Local Economy . From 1995 to 2010 she worked as Seimas - Ombudsman and then Lithuanian child rights protection officers .

Šalaševičiūtė has been a member of the Seimas since autumn 2012 . July 17, 2014 to February 17, 2016 she was Minister of Health of Lithuania in butkevičius cabinet in place of vytenis andriukaitis , the Lithuanian as a candidate member of the EU Commission has proposed.

Šalaševičiūtė was a member of the CPSU and the Lietuvos komunistų partija as well as the Lietuvos democinė darbo partija . She is a member of Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija .

Šalaševičiūtė is married and has three daughters.
