Institution of the Commissioner for the Rights of the Child of the Republic of Lithuania
The institution of the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of the Child of the Republic of Lithuania (lit. Lietuvos Respublikos vaiko teisių apsaugos kontrolieriaus įstaiga ) is a state Lithuanian authority that protects children's rights and represents the interests of children . The ombudsman for children's rights ( child rights protection officer ) is a civil servant with a degree in law ( administrative lawyer ) and head of the institution with around 20 employees. The institution of the ombudsman for children's rights was established in accordance with the Seimas Act of May 25, 2000 ( Lietuvos Respublikos vaiko teisių apsaugos kontrolieriaus įstatymas ).
