Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania
The Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Lithuania (lit.Lietuvos Respublikos aplinkos ministerija ) is one of 14 ministries of the Government of Lithuania , a national environment ministry based in Vilnius .
history
It used to be called the Ministry of Construction and Urbanism of the Republic of Lithuania . In 2016, the relocation of the headquarters was planned. From December 7, 2018 to April 9, 2019, the national environmental ministry responsible for green policy was vacant, the abolition of the ministry and the merger with the Lithuanian energy ministry were being considered (although the ruling party calls itself green , Bund der Bauern und Grünen , lit . Valstiečių ir žaliųjų sąjunga ). Žygimantas Vaičiūnas (Minister of Energy) also worked as acting environment minister in the Skvernelis cabinet for a total of 4 months.
