Valentinas Mazuronis (born November 18, 1953 in Molėtai ) is a Lithuanian architect and politician , party leader of Darbo partija (leiboristai) , member of the European Parliament , from 2004 to 2014 member of the Seimas and environment minister (2012-2014).

Life

After graduating from high school in Utena from 1960 to 1971 , he graduated from 1971 to 1976 with a degree in architecture at the Vilniaus valstybinis dailės institutas . From 1976 to 1977 he did compulsory service in the Soviet Army . From 1979 he was the architect of “Komprojekt” in Šiauliai . In 1991 he founded his own company (project office), from 1994 UAB “Dailės studija” was the director.

From 1993 was a member of Lietuvos liberalų sąjunga , from 2006 of Tvarka ir teisingumas . In 2015 he moved to Darbo partija .

From 1990 to 2003 he was a member of the Šiauliai Municipality Council . From 2004 to 2014 he was a member of the Seimas . From 2012 to 2014 he was Lithuania's Minister of the Environment . In 2014 he was elected to the European Parliament .

His son is Andrius Mazuronis (* 1979), civil engineer and politician, member of the Seimas.
