Kęstutis Mažeika

Kęstutis Mažeika (* 1982 in Marijampolė ) is a Lithuanian left-wing politician , Seimas member and the Lithuanian Environment Minister .

Life

After graduating from high school in Marijampolė in 2000, Kęstutis Mažeika studied veterinary medicine at the Veterinary Academy of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LVA) in Kaunas and became a veterinarian . After graduation, worked as the head of the LVA's career center. He also taught and was a lecturer at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences . In 2013 he received his PhD in agricultural sciences. From 2009 Mažeika worked as a farmer and beekeeper.

From 2015 to 2016 Mažeika was a member of the Marijampolė Municipality Council . He has been a Seimas member since November 2016. He has been Environment Minister in the Skvernelis Cabinet since April 9, 2019 . He was appointed by Dalia Grybauskaitė .
