Mindaugas Kvietkauskas

Mindaugas Kvietkauskas (born May 27, 1976 in Panevėžys ) is a Lithuanian literary scholar, poet, politician and Lithuania's Minister of Culture since 2019 .

Life

After graduating from high school, he completed his diploma in Lithuanian language and literature at Vilniaus universitetas in 2000 . From 1999 to 2002 he worked in the editorial department of the “Metai” magazine. From 2005 he taught at the VU. In 2006 he received his doctorate in literary studies on the subject of "Ankstyvasis Vilniaus literatūrinis modernizmas (1904–1915)". From 2015 he taught as a lecturer . From 200 he worked at Lituanistik -Institut ( Lietuvių Literaturos ir tautosakos institutas ), which he headed until 2018 as director of 2008. In December 2018, Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė appointed him Minister of Culture. He heads the Ministry of Culture of Lithuania in the Skvernelis cabinet .
