Milda Vainiutė

Milda Vainiutė (born December 20, 1962 in Rokiškis ) is a Lithuanian lawyer, constitutional lawyer and former politician , Minister of Justice of Lithuania (2016-2018), professor at the Mykolas Romer University .

Life

After graduating from the Rokiškis Middle School, Milda Vainiutė graduated from the Vilniaus pedagoginis institutas with a degree in Lithuanian Philology and became a teacher of the Lithuanian language and literature. From 1986 to 1998 she worked as a lituanist teacher at the 3rd middle school and then at the "Romuvos" high school in Rokiškis .

From 1987 to 1993. graduated Milda Vainiutė the Diploma Distance learning of law at the University of Vilnius and 1997 LL.M. -Aufbaustudium and in 2000 received his doctorate after doctoral studies for Doctor of Law at the University of Giessen on "The constitutional development of the Republic of Lithuania with special consideration of constitutional jurisdiction ".

From 2000 Milda Vainiutė taught as a lecturer, then until 2011 as a lecturer at the Chair of Constitutional Law at the Law Faculty of the Mykolas Römeris University (MRU) in Vilnius . From 2013 to 2016 she was director of the Institute for Constitutional Law and Administrative Law at the Law Faculty of the MRU. On April 19, 2007, she gave the guest lecture Judicial Reform in Lithuania - Current Developments at the Institute for Eastern European Law at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . Her research interests are comparative constitutional law, the constitutional position of the executive and parliament, the form of government, human rights.

From 2002, Milda Vainiutė worked as the head of the Law and Human Resources Department at the National Court Administration ( Nacionalinė teismų administracija ) and from 2000 to 2002 as a senior specialist in the Legal and Public Law Department at the Ministry of Justice of Lithuania . From 2003 to June 2009 she was legal advisor to the President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus . In the summer of 2009, she worked as the senior consultant in the sub-department for people service and document management.

From 2011 to 2016 Milda Vainiutė was a professor at the Institute for Public Law of the Law Faculty of the MRU. From September 2, 2016, she was a member of the Prosecutors Ethics Committee ( proposed by Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius ). From December 13, 2016, she was Minister of Justice in the Skvernelis cabinet . It was proposed after the candidacy of former Social Democratic Vice Minister Julius Pagojus was rejected. On March 8, 2018, Vainiutė resigned.

Milda Vainiutė was a member of two Seimas working groups. One of them was in preparation for a Lithuanian constitutional law on dual citizenship .

Vainiutė is non-party.

Milda Vainiutė speaks English, German and Russian.

Milda Vainiutė is single and childless.
