Linas Kukuraitis

Linas Kukuraitis (born May 22, 1978 ) is a Lithuanian politician and social worker . Since December 2016 he has been the Lithuanian Minister for Social Affairs and Labor in the Skvernelis cabinet .

Life

After graduating from the Vilnius Lyceum in 1997 , Linas Kukuraitis completed a bachelor's and master's degree in social work at the Philosophy Faculty of Vilnius University (VU). He then taught social work at the Chair of Social Work at the Philosophy Faculty of VU. Until December 2016 he was director of Caritas in the Archdiocese of Vilnius and was responsible for many social projects, including the day care centers for children and old people's facilities of Caritas Vilnius. Since December 13, 2016, Kukuraitis has been Lithuania's Minister of Social Protection and Labor in the Skvernelis cabinet . He was proposed by the Lietuvos valstiečių ir žaliųjų sąjunga party and appointed by Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaitė .
