Raimundas Karoblis
Raimundas Karoblis (born April 14, 1968 in the Rajongemeinde Pasvalys ) is a Lithuanian administrative lawyer, diplomat and politician . He has been the Minister of Defense of Lithuania since December 2016 .
Life
After graduating from the Juozas Balčikonis High School in Panevėžys in 1986 , Karoblis graduated from Vilnius University with a degree in law in 1992 . He also trained in Canada ( Dalhousie University , Halifax ).
From 1999 to 2003 he was an advisor to the Lithuanian Mission at the UN in Geneva . From 2003 to 2007 he was department director, then ambassador and from 2010 permanent representative to the EU . In the Butkevičius cabinet he was Deputy Minister in the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry from August 2015 . He has been Minister of Defense in the Skvernelis cabinet since December 13, 2016 . Karoblis does not belong to any party.
