Eimutis Misiūnas

Eimutis Misiūnas (* 1973 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian lawyer and politician , Vice Minister at the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania since October 2019, Minister of the Interior from 2016 to 2019 , former judge .

Life

In 1996 Misiūnas graduated from Lietuvos policijos akademija (LPA) and became a lawyer. In 2010 he received his doctorate in law .

From July 1996 to June 1998 Misiūnas worked as an assistant at the Chair of Police Law and Professional Tactics at the LPA. From 1998 to 2005 he taught as an LPA lecturer. From 1997 to 2004 he was a lawyer at Teisinės pagalbos centras.

From February 2005 to July 2006, Misiūnas taught at the Chair of Police Law and Activities at the Judicial Faculty of the Mykolo Romerio universitetas . From September 2005 to August 2008 he taught at the Tarptautinė teisės ir verslo aukštoji mokykla , from 2006 to June 2008 he was Dean of the Faculty of Law and in June 2008 he was head of the Chair of Public Law at TTVAM. From September 2006 to April 2014 he taught as a lecturer at the Institute for Constitutional and Administrative Law at the MRU.

From September 2008 to November 2015, Misiūnas worked as a senior specialist in the Corruption Prevention Office at Lietuvos Respublikos specialiųjų tyrimų tarnyba . From November 2015 to December 2016 he was a judge at the Vilniaus miesto apylinkės teismas . From December 13, 2016 to August 2019, he was Minister of the Interior of Lithuania and from March 2018 Acting Minister of Justice of Lithuania in the Skvernelis cabinet . He then worked as a consultant and since October 2019 he has been Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania , Deputy to Raimundas Karoblis .

Misiūnas speaks English, Russian and French.
