Kęstutis Navickas (born June 13, 1970 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian environmental activist, former politician , Minister of the Environment from 2016 to 2018.

Life

Navickas studied at Kaunas 25th Middle School. In 1988 he graduated from Kaunas' 40th vocational school as an electrical mechanic. There he was a member of the youth tourism club "Sakalas" Kaunas. In 1999 he completed his bachelor's degree in history at the Vilniaus universitetas and in 2009 his master's degree in management and administration from the Mykolo Romerio universitetas in Vilnius .

From 1992 to 1995 Navickas worked in the cultural heritage department in Kaunas. From 2006 to 2016 he worked for the NGO Baltijos aplinkos forumas , was deputy director. From November 2016 to December 7, 2018 he was Lithuania's Environment Minister in the Skvernelis cabinet ; he was dismissed at the suggestion of Saulius Skvernelis .
