Rimantas Šadžius
Rimantas Šadžius (born October 8, 1960 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian social democratic politician and the country's finance minister from 2012 to 2016 . Since June 2016 he has been a member of the European Court of Auditors as Lithuanian representative.
Life
After graduating from high school with distinction in 1978 at the 23rd Vilnius Middle School, Šadžius graduated with distinction in chemistry from Moscow University in 1983 and in 2002 the law degree from Vilniaus universitetas . From 1989 to 1999 he worked at the Physics Faculty of Vilnius University.
From 2003 to 2007, Šadžius was Lithuania's Deputy Minister of Social Affairs , from 2007 to 2008 Lithuania's Deputy Minister of Health and Deputy Minister of Finance. From December 2012 to June 2016, Šadžius was Minister of Finance in the Butkevičius cabinet . His successor was Rasa Budbergytė .
Šadžius taught at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Lietuvos edukologijos universitetas . He has been a doctoral candidate since 2009 and is doing his doctorate in law through public-private partnership at the Vilniaus universitetas law faculty .
Šadžius speaks English, Russian, Polish, German and French.

Šadžius is married and with his wife, a civil servant, has a daughter Kristina and a son Almantas.
