action

The rabbit boy Max lives alone on a traffic island in the middle of the city. His dream is to become a gang member of the "Wahnsinns-Hasen". During a test of courage, he flies in a model airplane , but is caught in a gust of wind and drifted far away from the city. He ends up in the middle of the forest and meets a training camp for Easter bunnies , the bunny school. He wants to get away quickly from there, but the foxes are waiting for the rabbits in the forest. After several adventures, Max learns to appreciate the bunny school way of life and supports the other bunnies in their fight against the foxes.

background

The characters in the film are based on the classic children's book by Fritz Koch-Gotha and Albert Sixtus from 1924 . The plot was adapted to today's living conditions.

criticism

The film service judges: “Lively animated children's film that conveys the importance of responsibility for oneself as well as for others with wit and humor, poetry and moderate tension. He imaginatively dusts off the old picture book classic and opens it up in a turbulent and entertaining way for his young target group. - Worth seeing".

The German film and media rating rates the film as “particularly valuable”: “The dramaturgical trick that a cool city bunny who would like to be involved in a city walk becomes the savior of the bunny school provides the visual contrast between big city and idyllic forest life . The fact that the bunny school has changed a little, enriched by a climbing forest-like training camp and by supplementing lessons in addition to painting Easter eggs in karate and meditation, fits perfectly and yet does not completely question the original theme of the bunny school ”.
