Solo for Weiss is a crime film series of ZDF with Anna Maria Mühe in the role of Zielfahnderin Nora Weiss, produced since 2016, and as part of the week TV movie is broadcast.
Production notes
After initially broadcasting two consecutive episodes in November 2016, the series was continued with a third part about a year and a half later. A fourth film was shot in early 2018 and was shown for the first time in September 2018 at the 15th Festival of German Films in Ludwigshafen am Rhein . In January 2019, a fifth film was made under the working title Sleepless .

Nora Weiss
The LKA target investigator Nora Weiss has a sponsored child named Daina who, in her first case, disappears on a ferry from Riga ( Latvia ) to Lübeck , but is released again for certain reasons. Weiss 'supervisor Jan Geissler is well disposed towards the target investigator and shows himself jealous when Weiss' spent the night in a guesthouse with her colleague Simon Brandt during her third case. The young investigator lives in a lonely house on the Trave , where she goes through her current case again. Nora Weiss loves books and has a well-stocked bookshelf. She immediately notices if one of her books is not in the right place or is missing.
During her second case, it becomes clear that Weiss is a vegetarian . She is supported by her friend Anna Balodis, the mother of her godchild Daina. Nora Weiss' father is a pastor . He had worked as an escape helper in the GDR .
Jutta Lieck Klenke, responsible for production, asked the producers to ask themselves about a new figure to be established, namely, how do you create a figure “who can be seen next to all the other investigators on German television? “Nora Weiss is a tough, courageous loner, young, highly intelligent and perfectionist. She grew up in the east in a pastor's household. That’s what makes them. She loves her home, likes to live in her house by the sea. Her nature is marked by seriousness, always knowing that she has a great responsibility not only towards the victims, but also towards their relatives.
The producer said, “Anna Maria Mühe [is] a godsend for every film she [e] appears in. Wherever she [is], magic spreads on the canvas ”. With “this strong pound” you go into “two highly complex cases”.
Simon Brandt
Weiss works with Simon Brandt, a colleague who has been transferred to Lübeck by the fraud department in Dortmund for private reasons. In the course of their collaboration, the agent must find that Brandt is addicted to gambling . In the fourth case, Forever Silence , after being asked whether he had children, he reveals the reasons for his voluntary transfer to Lübeck. He had insurmountable problems with his wife, who ultimately also obtained custody of their son Tim.
