Benedict Maria Kramer

Benedikt Maria Kramer (born September 10, 1979 in Dachau ) is a German writer and musician .

Career

After training as a stonemason , Kramer studied media art, among other things, at the State University of Design in Karlsruhe . He produced several short films and documentaries . In 2005 he was nominated for the first German Young Talent Award for his film Die neue Mieter .

After returning from the Warsaw Short Film Festival in 2008, he stopped making films and finished his studies. During this time he began to write his first poems and word collages, which he set to music together with the band Rabenbad. In addition to the band, the duo "Das Ding & Alfredo Garcia" with the musician and graphic designer Florian Schanz was created. Rabenbad now has four members and goes on tour regularly.

Since 2010 Kramer has been the editor of the literary magazine Superbastard, which has been published by Songdog Verlag since 2014.

After publications in daily newspapers, literary magazines and anthologies, his first volume of poetry was published in 2016, happiness is something for beginners . In the same year, Der Mann im Yellow Kleid - Song of Songs of the Flying Foxes followed , a lyrical exchange of blows with the Zurich author Susann Klossek published by Freiraum Verlag .

In 2018, Songdog Verlag brought out Would you call the cops if I burned my wallet in your driveway? Kramer's second volume of poetry.
