action

A joint television appearance by Johann Stanzerl, the operator of a Viennese coffee house , and the Turkish businessman Mustafa Ötztürk in the Barbara Karlich Show should actually be presented as an example of successful integration and advertising for both of them, but the appearance escalates in front of the camera and ends in Fisticuffs.

Johann is in financial difficulties, his coffee house is financially at an end and he is hopelessly in debt. In addition, he has not been able to pay rent for months, so Mustafa, who is also his landlord, files an eviction suit . Johann can hardly sleep any more, and when he finally falls asleep, he is plagued by nightmares , so he looks for the psychiatrist Dr. Eugene up.

Mustafa, on the other hand, is economically successful, but can hardly savor his triumph over Johann because his ultra-conservative Anatolian father-in-law, the general, has announced that he will be visiting. When describing his business to his Turkish family, Mustafa exaggerated grossly and portrayed it much larger than it actually is. Mustafa wants to prevent a loss of face at all costs and therefore makes the suggestion to Johann that he should let him use his bar for a week and pretend to be Mustafa's employee for the duration of the visit. In return, Mustafa withdraws his eviction action and waives his rental debt. Johann accepts the offer.

The general surprises Mustafa and Sabrie with the information that he has come to the circumcision festival of Mustafa's son Kemal. He has already had the donkey, which is part of the family tradition, brought to this festival. While Sabrie welcomes circumcision, Mustafa is rather hostile to the plan. However, due to the economic dependence on the general, he agrees for the time being.

Mustafa's son himself doesn't want to be circumcised at all. Only after Kemal's sister, Zeynep, threatens to circumcise him at night while he sleeps, Kemal agrees to do so, but makes financial demands on his parents. After learning about the planned circumcision in his restaurant, Johann fears that he will lose the last of his regular guests as a result and tries to influence Kemal with information about possible negative consequences of the circumcision. Kemal then begins to research the Internet, but is prevented from doing so by his sister. Johann therefore made printed documents available to him.

After the general's description of his own circumcision with a razor blade and the sprinkling of salt into the open wound, Kemal fled to the Stanzerls. Johann wants to help him and try to prevent the circumcision. However, he wants to combine this with Mustafa's loss of face so that he has the bar to himself again. As part of the plan, Sofie mistakenly puts a sleeping pill in the general's tea that was actually intended for the circumciser. After Mustafa explains to Johann that he also wants to help his son by just faking the circumcision, Johann breaks off the action he was planning. Instead of the penis foreskin , squid rings are shown at the festival . The already sleeping general is put on a bus to Istanbul at Vienna Central Station . Mustafa and Johann agree to restore the two bars to their original state.
