Achterbahn is an Austrian television film from the country crime film series from 2018 by Wolfgang Murnberger with Tobias Moretti , Stefan Pohl and Christopher Schärf . The first broadcast on ORF took place on December 12, 2018.

Major Vilser is a police officer from the State Criminal Police Office who seems to be close to the Viennese underworld in a different way than would be appropriate for someone in his position. He has forgotten that his twelve-year-old son Florian wanted to spend the Christmas holidays with him so that he could finally spend a lot of time together again. First he is assigned to the young Vorarlberg police officer Matthias Tschofen, then suddenly his son is also at the door.

With the two of them, Vilser makes his rounds through the Viennese underworld. His proximity to this had not harmed him so far, because he belongs to the inner circle around Police President Elsbacher. However, Lieutenant Colonel Gerlinde Zach from the anti-corruption authority tries to expose the corrupt men's association.

The shooting took place from November 15 to December 15, 2016, the shooting took place in Vienna . Filming locations included the Wurstelprater , the Gürtel and the Café Defizit in the 17th district of Hernals in Vienna .

The film was produced by Superfilm , and the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation was involved . Maria Gruber was responsible for the production design, Martina List for the costume design , Gregor Kienel for the sound and Kristin Barthold for the make-up.

The daily newspaper Die Presse described the dialogues as hearty and often also amusing. The naming is "something Viennese : Da Zoarte has at least 150 kilos, the Schoko has its nickname because of the skin color, the Inschenör apparently missed the job as a crook ." The film would be brilliantly cast, the actors excellent.

Marco Weise found in the courier that the film was not a crime thriller, but an entertaining study of the Viennese underworld. The characters, their language and also the music are deeply Viennese.
