Hans Gumplmayer

Hans Gumplmayer (born December 18, 1884 in Mariazell , † December 27, 1969 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ), carpenter and secretary. He was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

After completing compulsory school, Gumplmayer completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter between 1898 and 1901 and subsequently continued his education through special courses at the state trade school. He also studied at the University of World Trade between 1922 and 1923. From 1910 to 1946 he worked as an accountant in a carpentry business, later he was secretary of the Viennese welfare and welfare association "Volkshilfe".

Politically, Gumplmayer was active in various functions in the Social Democratic Party from 1919. He was a section head, head of the local workers' library and a member of the Vienna-Margareten district committee. He represented the SPÖ between December 19, 1945 and November 8, 1949, and between June 20, 1951 and March 18, 1953 (as the successor to Theodor Körner, who was elected Federal President ) as a member of the National Council.
