Maria Hofstätter (born March 30, 1964 in Linz ) is an Austrian film and theater actress .

Life

Since 1983 Maria Hofstätter has appeared as an actress on various Austrian and German theaters and has appeared in numerous films and cabaret programs. Since 1995 she has been running the Vorarlberg Project Theater in Feldkirch together with Dietmar Nigsch .

As a film actress she first appeared in Paul Harather's tragic comedy India . Their breakthrough came finally in 2001 as a hitchhiker in Anna dog days of Ulrich Seidl . For the role she received the special jury award at the Gijón International Film Festival .

She continued her collaboration with Ulrich Seidl with Import Export and the films from the Paradies trilogy . In Paradise: Faith she took on the female lead as the fanatical Catholic Anna Maria.

Hofstätter was one of the five protagonists of the weekly ORF satellite radio show Welt Ahoi! which was broadcast by Ö1 from November 2009 to December 2010.

With productions by the Vorarlberg project theater , she is a regular guest at the Walserherbst biennial cultural festival in the Großer Walsertal .
