history

Hunt or Der totale Februar was Theater Hausruck's first production and was premiered in 2005 in the former coal breaker Kohlgrube in Kohlgrube / Wolfsegg am Hausruck under the direction of Georg Schmiedleitner and the management of Chris Müller. The author of theplay, which was set between the Republican Schutzbund and Heimwehr during the February fighting in 1934 , is the writer Franzobel . Hunt or Der totale Februar was awarded the Nestroy Theater Prize twice in 2005(special prize for the “best initiative” and “best play - author prize”), the  stage art prize of Upper Austria and in 2006 the Vöckla Kultur Award.

With “Zipf! - Or the dark side of the moon ”, the Hausruck theater dealt with the Nazi era in Hausruck. The piece written by Franzobel traces the history of the Redl-Zipf concentration camp sub-camp , a camp that was part of the Mauthausen concentration camp complex . In 2007 and 2008, under the directorship of Chris Müller, Georg Schmiedleitner's production attracted more than 20,000 people to the Wolfsegg coal breaker.

In cooperation with Linz09 , on the occasion of the asylum case for the Zogaj family , the Hausruck theater focused on the topics of migration and integration in “A Hetz or The Last Days of Humanity”. The play was awarded the Upper Austria Intercultural Prize in the “Best Concept” category.

In the production “€ AT - Capitalism Day in the Bankruptcy Hall”, which premiered in 2010, the Hausruck Theater dealt with the flows of capital as well as the conditions and effects of the prevailing economic order. Among the visitors were the then Minister for Education, Art and Culture Claudia Schmied and the then President of the National Council Barbara Prammer .

The last production of Theater Hausruck so far, "NEULAND or: Vorwärts zum Ursprung!" Under the artistic direction of Chris Müller, was performed during the 2011 Ars Electronica Festival and interwoven Richard Wagner's Parzival and contemporary scientific positions into a science fiction plot in the woods of the Hausruck.

The ensemble consists of professional actors, a professional directing team and numerous amateur actors from the Hausruck region.
