Intercultural Award Upper Austria

The Interkulturpreis Oberösterreich is an Austrian award for intercultural engagement and is awarded in Linz in Upper Austria .

The prize is awarded by the Upper Austrian Society for Cultural Policy of the SPÖ Upper Austria and Volkshilfe Upper Austria . The prizes were presented several times in the Phönix Theater in Linz at a festival without borders . The prize is endowed with 9,000 euros annually for three or more winners.

2011

  • The 2011 Intercultural Prize was awarded to three projects in the categories of children and young people, the world of work, and municipalities.
  • Municipalities: MammaMia mother groups with the Institute for Addiction Prevention and the City of Wels

2015

  • First prize was awarded to the pupils of the elementary school and the new middle school in Ansfelden for their project “From Jewish neighbors yesterday and multilingual neighbors today”.
  • Two projects shared the second prize: the Kupfermuckn association with the project “Employment of asylum seekers and travelers in need” and the Solar City elementary school with the project “From growing to growing together”.
  • A special award was given to the Gutau community for their project “Mitten in Gutau”.
