Bruno Kreisky Forum

The Bruno Kreisky Forum for International Dialogue is “a European place for thinking” in Vienna . For this purpose, recognized politicians, opinion leaders and representatives from business and science from all over the world are regularly invited to exchange ideas and opinions in the spirit of Bruno Kreisky and to find possible solutions to major problems and conflicts.

It was founded in 1991, one year after Kreisky's death. The former Kreiskys villa at Armbrustergasse 15, 1190 Vienna, was purchased and equipped with a lecture hall and seminar rooms. In 1993 the official opening took place by the then Federal Chancellor Franz Vranitzky and the editor of the time , Marion Countess Dönhoff . The son Peter Kreisky sat on the advisory board until his death at the end of 2010.

Financing is provided by the City of Vienna, the Republic of Austria , the Oesterreichische Nationalbank and private sponsors such as the Karl Kahane Foundation .
