Jochen Herdieckerhoff

Jochen Herdieckerhoff (born July 31, 1963 in Langenfeld , North Rhine-Westphalia , † June 2, 2006 in Vienna ) was a German dramaturge and activist .

Herdieckerhoff already set accents as an editor in the school newspaper “Wir im Pürree” of the Konrad-Adenauer-Gymnasium (Langenfeld) , so that it was banned. He has also organized festivals in Langenfeld.

After moving to Vienna in 1996, Herdieckerhoff put through a festival with gay and lesbian artists. He founded the Ecce Homo association (Vienna is the other way around) , from which a number of activities emerged. The festival became known through striking posters and performances. In 2001 he handed Ecce Homo over to Hannes Sulzenbacher . On March 21, 2000, Herdieckerhoff published a sensational article about Jörg Haider in the Berlin TAZ . The QWIEN (center for gay / lesbian culture and history) emerged from initiatives by Herdieckerhoff.

From 2000 to 2002 he was dramaturge at the Vienna Rabenhof Theater under the direction of Karl Welunschek .

On June 2, 2006, Jochen Herdieckerhoff committed suicide in Vienna.
