Martin Selle (born September 25, 1966 in Linz ) is an Austrian writer.

In addition to his school career, elementary school, secondary school, vocational high school, commercial academy with Matura, later Technical University of Vienna (academic real estate consultant), he learned the writing trade through technical schools in the USA, graduated from 9 leading academies for creative fiction writing.

Since 2000, Martin Selle has placed his literary focus on literature for children, youth and young adults from 7 to 17 years of age and on the practical teaching of the craft of writing. He orients his works and interactive readings on the contemporary reading wishes of these age groups. The aim is to offer multi-value through IQ books (exciting entertainment literature combined with everyday useful expert advice) and thus to produce self-motivated, meaningful readers. The IQ books are the result of 2 years of reading research, student interviews, technical discussions with educators and expert reports on reading today.

In 2007, Martin Selle won 1st place in the “ Book Favorite 2007” in the 10 to 14 year category with the crime series CodeName SAM . In 2008 he was awarded 3rd place. In 2000 and 2001 works were awarded the feather rabbit prize. His books are also translated into languages ​​such as Chinese, Vietnamese, Ukrainian. In 2018, Martin Selle was the subject of the master's thesis Authorship Concepts in the 21st Century at the Faculty of Linguistics and Literature at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich.

In addition to his work as a writer, Martin Selle motivates children and young people to read and write with interactive workshops (Tatort Desk) and readings (Das Krimi-Duell).

With Von Null Auf Autor (VNAA) , Martin Selle also teaches adults the craft of writing using the 7-phase VNAA method.

Martin Selle writes and lives in Wesenufer in Upper Austria.
