Feather hare award
The Spring Bunny Prize , advertised by Design Austria in cooperation with the Main Association of Austrian Book Trade and the International Institute for Youth Literature, awarded from 1996 to 2002 the best book covers in children's and youth literature. The prize was endowed with 3,000 euros.
Feather hares
The feather rabbits were founded in 1991 by Winfried Opgenoorth and Gerda Anger-Schmidt . They are a relaxed community of children's book authors based in Vienna . Since it was founded, established and newly added authors and illustrators from the children's book sector have met every first Monday of the month in Café Florianihof for a monthly jour fixe . The purpose of the monthly meeting is to exchange ideas and experiences and to talk to like-minded people. Every now and then, small trips and celebrations are organized together.
